Sound familiar?

You’ve got a decent mic, but your stream still doesn’t sound the way you want.

Fader

Fuzzy when you get loud

A shout, a laugh or a high note crackles or distorts on stream.

Eq Processing

Thin, boomy or harsh

Your voice sounds wrong on stream, even through a good mic.

Effects

Too many filters

You’ve stacked filters from YouTube videos, and it sounds worse, not better.

It starts before OBS

Most poor stream audio is decided before the signal reaches OBS: the gain on your interface, where the mic sits, the switches on the mic itself. I set those first, then build your filters.

How I fix it

A live remote session. You stay at your desk, and I work on your computer with you.

1

I call you on WhatsApp

A voice line on your phone, separate from the mic we’re working on, so we can talk while we test.

2

I connect and listen

I connect to your computer with AnyDesk and hear your audio in real time through Audiomovers LISTENTO.

3

We build your sound

Mic position and interface gain first, then a filter chain in OBS, tested while you talk, shout and play as you would on stream.

A real fix

A karaoke streamer whose high notes kept turning fuzzy.

Full Studio Setup CASE ID #259

Fuzzy high notes on a Shure SM7B, fixed for a Twitch singer

The setup

The problem

He streams karaoke on Twitch and YouTube with a Shure SM7B and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Every loud high note distorted, and he thought plugins would clean it up.

What I did

  • Found the Scarlett’s gain set too high, so loud notes clipped the preamp before reaching the computer. We turned the dial down.
  • Moved him a little closer to the mic and set the SM7B’s own switches for more brightness and less low rumble.
  • Built an OBS chain with him: gain, compressor, EQ and limiter, plus a free reverb he can switch on and off mid-stream.

The result

Result: his voice came through clean, bright and at a steady volume however loud he sang, and the distortion was gone.

What it costs

No packages to decode, no upsells. Pick the one that fits and book it.

Before you book

The questions streamers ask me most.

Can’t I just copy settings from a tutorial?

You can, but they were set for someone else’s voice, mic and room. I set yours while you talk and play, and adjust as we go.

Will you install plugins?

Only where they help. OBS’s own filters cover most of it; where a free plugin does a better job, I’ll tell you what it is and set it up.

How do I keep the settings?

OBS doesn’t save filter presets, so before we finish we take screenshots of everything we set. You can rebuild it from those if you ever need to.
